Chaplain Jeff Cunningham grew up in the Cleveland area and came to know Christ as His Lord and Savior at the age of five. He grew up under the ministries of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, where he was provided with opportunities to participate in youth ministry and teach as a young adult.
While at The Ohio State University, Chaplain Jeff connected with believers through Campus Crusade for Christ. There, he participated in leading freshman bible studies, conducting door-to-door evangelism, spring mission trips, and attending a summer project in Traverse City, MI. It was during this time that he began to explore the call to full-time ministry and interned under Pastor James Beight at Madison Avenue Baptist Church.
After graduating from college with a B.A. in Political Science, Jeff has worked in private business, served as a public servant in juvenile justice, as a short-term missionary, as part of a church rescue team, and is a commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve. While working for the juvenile court, Jeff earned his M.Div from Liberty University and became a Chaplain in the United States Army Reserve.
While working in private industry, Jeff met and married Maggie Lusnia. Together, they have five children: Morrigan, Deacon, Silas, Theo, and Eden. Chaplain Jeff is an expository preacher with a desire to teach and apply sound doctrine for everyday living. He wants to see people come to know Christ as Savior, disciple others, and serve the Soldiers of our great nation. Chaplain Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife and family.
When he has an opportunity, he enjoys watching Buckeye football, riding his motorcycle, archery with the family, and authentic BBQ.
